How lazy can I get?

Damn lazy, that's how lazy.

However, it's not entirely out of laziness that I haven't given you
guys an update in such a long time, but more out of a lack of sanity.
You see, I've been working like crazy trying to keep my finger on the
pulse of this thing.

I tell you, the spy business is a hectic trade.

Anyway, I took a few days off to relax in the mountains. I went to
Manning Park Lodge, which is pretty much right in the middle of
Manning Park.

I rented a cabin. But before that, I had to rent a car which happened
by chance to be a PT Cruiser. Lots of legroom and storage space, but
other than that, very much a car in my opinion. Shifting was a little
clunky at slow speeds, but who knows maybe it's just because I hardly
ever drive an automatic. (I thought the same thing of the last car I
rented)

So the cabin was nice even though it was infested with at least one
mouse. I took this to mean there were many more so I decided to put
all of my food in the fridge. Luckily it was only me in an 8 person
cabin - I can't imagine the havoc if 8 people had to do the same.
Very fat mice I would guess.

I tried to hike around, but the trails are really for the summertime,
and as there was about 15 cm of snow on the ground it was hard to see
where to go. Altogether, I hiked through the bush, and got really wet
with snow. I was pretty confident that I couldn't get lost because I
could always follow my trail back, but I got tired and wet pretty
quickly because there was lots of deadfall in the forest - that means
lots of trees to climb over.

There is also a hot tub, a steam room and a sauna there; very nice
facilities indeed. These are in their own building, and in another
building is a bar, and a restaurant. The bar is nice and cozy, I
didn't go to the restaurant.

So that was my weekend, relaxing by a campfire, sitting in a hot tub
and tromping through the woods. I can't wait to go out there in the
summer so I can go hiking, it sounds like they have some great
trails...if you can find them. :)

I must say though, I'm glad to be back. After all that sleep, and all
that relaxation I'm ready to get all wound up again!

I was standing on a cliff taking the mountain picture, I had about two feet of rough gravel and then this. 

A big mountain, forest valley, and overexposed sky. Sigh. 

I was tromping through the woods looking for the Three Falls Trail. I never did find the trail, but I found a creek, just beyond those fallen trees. 

This is a little cabin across the river. I have other photos that are on film so hopefully the color will be not so skewed. 

Another day another dollar

I'm not sure how applicable that phrase is but let me tell you that I
have had a busy busy last two weeks.

Last night I went to Mahoney's for beers with my boss and we had lots
of beers. I was not a very happy human this morning. In fact I
didn't feel human at all.

I'm heading home to Winnipeg on Thursday, for the Phantom Feast dinner
with m&d, to party it up with some of you local peggers and then I'm
back to Vancouver on Sunday night. The next week I'm heading up to
old Balmertown Ontario again for some network upgrades!




I went for dinner to an Etheopian restaurant called Harambe with Aimee
and Michael tonight - somewhere on Commercial. It was pretty good
food, Etheopian food is always very filling. :)

My freezer is being a bit obnoxious. I'm not sure why, but it's
crackling constantly. If one of you reading this is knowledgable with
freezers maybe you could chime in here. It's not the ice, it's coming
from where there are some vents at the back. I tapped it and a drop
of water came out - this seemed very unusual to find in my freezer,
but what the heck.
